project progress

Here is a sample of some preliminary designs and color mock-ups for the Children's Hospital project.  The community engagement  sessions were  awesome and I am eager to begin on the 15 final paintings.
It's been a lot of work so far, but, also, such a gift to work with the talented and supportive ArtWorks staff and the amazing teen-agers that I've met along the way.  Stay tuned for progress reports!

COMMISSION

I'm enjoying the challenge of this two-panel commission.  Images that mean a lot to this newly-wed couple make me happy to paint.   It's been a long time since I've painted a barn!

NEWS

I am happy to announce that I am working  on a project for Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in partnership with ArtWorks and Kolar Design.  It involves some of my favorite things:
art-making with kids and teens, art-making on my own,  and the sublime ArtWorks Cincinnati .
Here is  a preliminary study related to my submitted theme, CONVERSATIONS, that was chosen by the design team.   I'll be eventually working on 15 large mixed-media pieces that incorporate art from CHMC children and their families.  Look for more news as the project progresses through the rest of this year.

springing into some new projects

There is ALOT happening here in my studio.  Here are my spring and summer projects; itemized, sanitized, summarized:
1. a commission from my favorite non-profit arts organization ArtWorks.  It began several months ago and the final deadline is next Feb.  I am just now signing a contract so am still figuring out what I can post about it, for now let me just say that I'm very excited about it and am gearing up for A LOT of painting.

2. another "family" commission.  so excited to paint a "signature" piece of their history and backgrounds for this newly-wed couple.  and it's a DIPTYCH on my favorite surface, PANEL!

3.  I've bought a tent!  After a couple of years of "the inclement weather" tour I have made an investment and thus, a commitment.  I am hoping to do the Autumn Air Art Fair in Clifton in November  ( with all of the work that did not get exhibited at the Spring Fling last week).  Hyde Park and Wyoming Shows are on my radar once the ArtWorks project is complete.

4. other than that I'm excited to see where the Journey and the Life Together themes lead.  I have more Losing My Religion work to explore, too.

NOT YO MAMAS CHURCH BAZAAR

It's time for the annual NORTHMINSTER ARTS FAIR.  It's my third year participating and I have to say it's one of my favorite shows.  The artists are top-notch.  The folks running it are organized, supportive, kind and helpful.  And now let's talk about the food-  freshly made cinnamon rolls in the morning and a foodie-worthy luncheon. Come out of the cold and gray to this warm, colorful arts fair happening SATURDAY FEB 1st at NORTHMINSTER PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH at 703 COMPTON RD.  45231 (Finneytown/Wyoming) 10am to 4pm
