Finally, some new work....and a new gig! I'll be a part of the AUTUMN AIR ART FAIR at the old Clifton School (Now the Clifton Cultural Arts Center, located directly across from Fairview Elementary). It's a one day event, with lots of affordable art. The show was juried so expect good things. I'll have a lot of small works on paper, a few canvases and the ever popular mirrors.

I'll preview new work as I finish it so stay tuned!

I'm working on incorporating the figure into a more abstract setting. Why? I'm beginning to understand acrylic paint....and to enjoy it layered and rubbed out and scratched into. The setting then becomes even more mysterious and provocative, still pointing to a story and a meaning, but more layers of movement and obscured narrative. (an interesting parallel to my spiritual journey; fitting less and less into hard-edged boxes, making room for mystery and discovery and freedom.) I'm not sure any of these are finished, but I'm excited to get something up beyond the mirrors and stools.

It's the first annual College Hill Art Show. conveniently scheduled for the Saturday before mother's day (MAY 8 10am-2pm), conveniently located in the bustling business district at North Bend Rd and Hamilton Ave........behind College Hill Coffee Co., Schwartz, Bacalls and Marty's Hops and Vines (all sponsors of this event).


Tina , the owner of CHCC, (and so much more) is "curating" and if you've ever been in her coffee shop, you know she has great taste. She was selective in inviting artist's to join so my guess is the work will be high quality. Come and buy something for your mama....while enjoying good food, art and community!
